This column is intended to capture the information on migration of the household members. This will be decided based on the concept of change in the usual place of residence (upr). The usual place of residence here is defined as a place (village or town) where the person has stayed continuously for a period of six months or more. The place of enumeration refers to the place (village or town) where the person is being enumerated or surveyed, i.e., the present place of residence of the person. This column will record whether the person now enumerated had a different upr previously (called the last upr). Code 1 will be entered for persons whose place of enumeration is different from the last upr. For those who have been staying in the same village or town since their birth code 2 will be entered. Visits of daughters to their parent's place for child birth or for treatments etc. will not be considered even if it is for more than six months.
